Description: The very gifted director and cartoon strip writer jorge ballarin was born in fuerteventura, spain the year of 1972. when he was 4 in the year of 1976, he, his brother marcelino and his parents moved to denmark and have lived their since. from an early age he communicated through drawing. at 16 in 1988, he won tuborg's sparks drawing competition. in 1990 ballarin designed the record cover for 'rockers by choice' and got a job as an illustrator for lego and the danish commercial company advance. in 1993 he finished his training as art director.the year following after in 1994 he opened a business together with his brother marcelino ballarin, a hip hop boutique named "buck whylin", where they designed and made their own street-wear brand: b-boy gear. they went on to create the cartoon strip "slim slam slum" that year, for different media organizations. marcelino where writing, while jorge of course mastered the funny drawings. the first cartoon strip of the 3 funny guys got published in december 1994 in the little, free, danish newspaper: "musik og mode" (music and fashion). and the following years they made other cartoons about the young dudes, and jorge and his brother became famous in denmark in no time. they sold the cartoons to a lot of danish medias like: ekstra bladet, dr, telia cd-rom, mantra, ekstra bladets forlag, spin music, haarder publishing, aschenfelts magasiner, go-card etc.during 2001 and 2002 they created the cartoon series "golly" for post danmark, "buffe og bara" for nesa and "niller og silde" for danske bank. while they were making all those comics books, they decided to make a real-life movie with slim, slam and slum. so they went to lots of media companies just without any kind of luck. but they would absolutely do the movie even if they only had 50 bucks, and finally they met wise guy productions. the brothers had a meeting with two of the companies producers : _thomas stegler_ and _sohail hassan_, and they thought about it as a really good and exiting idea. so in a couple of weeks they got all the cast and crew for the movie, and it got released in august, 2002. so jorge and his brother were after that capable to call themselves writer and director because of their feature film debutslim slam slum(2002) (joystick nation).
