Description: A do-it-all r&b artist who can easily alternate from cadency melodies to infectious hooks, asia karin emerged in 2018 with her self-titled ep she ain't nice via streaming. asia karin brittingham is originally from the belvedere neighborhood of west baltimore, maryland, but was raised in dundalk. in high school, she played basketball at friendship academy and taught herself to sing as she absorbed a classic and con-temporized mix of r&b with rap influences.back in baltimore, she juggled collegiate studies at baltimore city community college as she learned to write and record music while developing her talents. she used the baltimore streets as a testing ground for her performances, and in 2018 won the "made in dmv" showcase that prompted the attention of 21 savage's manager & president of since the 80's, keisaundra kei opens doors henderson. later that same year karin suffered the loss of a close friend due to violence in her city. this tragic event ultimately added to her decision to relocate to atlanta to pursue her music career. since then she's been rocking the stages around the rising atlanta music scene.
